Asymptotic estimates of large buffer overflow

07/19/2022 @ 10:00 - 11:00

The most rapidly developing area of science and technology is telecommunications. Rapid advances in technology have significantly increased the capacity and bandwidth of all types of networks and created many new types of services. The demand for providing integrated services (speech, data, images, multimedia information) within a single multiservice communication network has sharply increased.

With the development of technology, the very structure of the processes taking place in telecommunications networks has changed. New properties of traffic have been identified: the presence of self-similar nature and long-term dependence of the process under study. To date, shown that the self-similar structure has a telepath in wired networks during the operation of the widespread protocols Ethernet, OCS7, VoIP, TCP, and others. Similar effects were found in cellular telephone networks with packet switching, in networks with wireless access technology.
